Technician/MOT Tester at our Servicing & MOT Centre
Newport Transport has an exciting vacancy for a qualified MOT Tester/Technician in its car repair centre.
Based at our depot on Corporation Road you will work alongside a 6-strong team providing a professional service to our customers within the Servicing & MOT Centre.
The successful candidate is a qualified MOT tester and technician with a good level of experience and is able to carry out MOT's quickly and efficiently to VOSA standards. You will be skilled in all aspects of vehicle repairs and servicing including diagnostics and electroncs. You are able to deliver high quality work and meet deadlines. And you are reliable, a team player and self-motivated.
If you are successful you will work 37,5 hours per week, mostly Monday to Friday, but the occasional Saturdays are required. A competitive salary is offered and you’ll have the option to join the company pension scheme. As a Newport Transport employee you’ll also receive a discounted membership at Fitness4Less.

PCV fitter
Newport Bus has an exciting vacancy for a qualified PCV Fitter in its engineering department.
Based at our depot on Corporation Road you will work alongside a 60-strong team helping ensure the company’s 100+ buses are fit and ready to serve the City and people of Newport.
This is a challenging job with a good level of experience required. The successful candidate will need to have a minimum NVQ Level 3 in a relevant subject or equivalent standard such as City & Guilds. They will have a working knowledge of engineering equipment including: hydraulic vehicle lifts, pressurised oil and waste systems, battery chargers and starters, trolley jacks, scaffolding, pressure wash and automatic washing equipment, headlamp alignment tester, hydraulic jacks and testing equipment, drilling machine, torque wrenches, pedestal grinders and general portable equipment (i.e. air guns, drills, electric and pneumatic hand tools etc). You must also have, or be capable of attaining, a full PCV licence and forklift truck licence if required.
