Ticketing Policy Update - Under 5's

From Monday 25th August 2014 there will be a change to Newport Bus ticketing policy for Under 5's.

After communication, interaction and feedback from customers it has been agreed that;

"There will be no charge for up to 2 children under 5 years of age when travelling with another adult fare paying passenger. This includes concessionary and smartcard holders. Additional children will be charged the normal BAMBOO...

NATO Summit - X30/ 30 Travel Information

Newport Bus would like to inform customers that between Sunday 17th August 2014 - Saturday 13th September 2014the 30 and X30 services will be operating the following diversions in both directions due to road closures in Cardiff for the NATO Summit:

30 Service: From Newport Road, Station Terrace, Lower Churchill Way, Customhouse Street, Lower St Mary’s street into Cardiff Bus Station.

74 & 62 Services Route Diversion

From Monday 11th Auagust 2014 the 74 Chepstow and 62 Caldicot/Caerwent services will not operate via Woodstock Way, in both directions, due to a road closure for resurfacing of the carriageway.

Both services will operate a diversionary route via Caldicot Bypass and Chepstow Road for the duration of the works.

The works are scheduled to last approximately 2 weeks.


Newport Transport remembers fallen staff

During the First World War five Newport Corporation Transport staff enlisted and gave their lives to defend the way of life we now all enjoy freely.

To show their gratitude to these brave men, Newport Bus is dedicating a vehicle to each fallen soldier.

Each of the dedicated vehicles proudly displays the rank and name of their soldier on the front of the vehicle with information about him displayed inside.


Travel around for a pound

From Friday 1st August 2014 Newport Bus will be offering discounted ‘off peak’ single fares.

Single fares purchased after 7pm Monday - Saturday and all day Sunday will be priced at £1 and will be available on ALL services across our network.

Service changes - Sunday 29 June 2014

After a review of our network of services some areas of Newport will have minimal changes to their timetables from Sunday 29 June 2014, mainly affecting off-peak and weekend services.
