ABP Newport Wales 10k, Half & Marathon Disruption

On Sunday 28 April 2024, Newport will host the ABP Newport Wales 10k, Half & Marathon. As a result, there will be some disruption to bus services as follows:
Both Friars Walk and Market Square bus stations will be inaccessible all day.
All journeys will operate to/from stops on Queensway (opposite Newport Station) as follows:
- Route 2 - Stand Q8
- Routes 9A/9C - Stand Q7
- Route 16C - Stand Q4
- Route 19 - Stand Q4
- Route 26A - Stand Q8
- Route 30 - Stand Q4
- Routes 35/36 - Stand Q4
- Route 29A - Stand Q8
- Route 60 - Stand Q8
- Route 74 - Stand Q8
The following additional diversions will apply:
Route 9C
0807, 0907, 1007 journeys. After serving Newport Retail Park, buses will loop the Lee Way roundabout then access Broadmead Park via the bus lane slip road to resume their normal route. Nash Road and Longfellow Court will not be served. There are no changes to buses on route 9A.
Routes 30, 35, 36
All day – buses will operate via Newport Bridge, Clarence Place, Corporation Road and George Street Bridge in both directions resuming the normal route from the Central Police Station. Emlyn Street, St Paul’s Walk and Ebenezer Terrace stops will not be served.
Route 74
The 0825 journey from Chepstow, after serving Newport Retail Park the bus will operate via Aberthaw Road resuming its normal route at Beechwood Park. Nash Road and Somerton Road will not be served on this journey.
