Newport Diversions - Saturday 12 & Sunday 13 November

Newport Bus would like to inform customers of diversions to services, in Newport, on Saturday 12 and Sunday 13 November.

Saturday 12th November - Christmas Lights Switch On

Due to the preparations and the evening festivities High Street will be closed. On this day both the 19 Malpas service and the 26A/26C St Juians services will not operate via High Street but will instead operate directly to Newport Bus Station


Sunday 13th November - Remembrance Day Parade
 

Due to the Remembrance Day Parade from Newport High Street to the Cenotaph a number of roads will close in Newport City Centre. These closure will lead to diversions to the following services.

2A - Gaer

The 1020 2A service will operate outbound as a 2C meaning both the outbound and inbound journeys will operate via Cardiff Road.

6 - Alway

From 1st service the 6 will operate via George Street Bridge and Wharf Road rejoining its normal route at Chepstow Road both outbound and inbound.

The 1220 6 service will return to its normal route

8A/8C - Ringland

From 1st Service both the 8A/8C services will operate via George Street Bridge and Wharf Road rejoining its normal route at Chepstow Road both inbound and outbound

The 1150 8A service will return to its normal route.

15/16 - Bettws

From 1st Service both the 15/16 services will operate via the bypass under the Old Green roundabout. The 1st stop served after leaving the bus station will be Wickes.

The 1140 16 service will return to its normal route.

19E Malpas

From 1st Service the 19Ewill operate via the bypass under the Old Green roundabout. The 1st stop served after leaving the bus station will be Wickes.

The 1150 19E service will return to its normal route.

26A/26C St Julians

 

From 1st Service the 26A/26C services will operate via Heidenheim driver rejoining its normal route at the M4 roundabout on Caerleon Road. This diversion is in both directions

The 1320 26A Service will return to its normal route.

27/28 - Caerleon

From 1st Service the 27/28 services will operate via Heidenheim driver rejoining its normal route at the M4 roundabout on Caerleon Road. This diversion is in both directions

The 1230 28 Service will return to its normal route.

42/43 Moorland Park

From 1st journey the 42/43 services will operate via George Street Bridge rejoining its normal route at Corporation Road in both directions.

The 1230 42 service will return to its normal route.  

Please note the at 11am on Armistice Day, Friday 11th November, all of our staff have been asked to observe the 2 minutes silence. Drivers where safe to do so will stop at the nearest bus stop.
