On the Newport Bus app, you can track your service, purchase your bus tickets and passes, gift tickets to another app user and even register your bank card to track your contactless journeys.

It is easy to use. Once you have downloaded the app, you need to create an account with your full name and an email address only. You will need to verify your email address by responding to the automated email to be able to purchase tickets.

Our mobile tickets are also valid on Cardiff Bus Route 30!

Buy a ticket

Simply tap on Tickets at the bottom of the screen and Get Tickets to view and select the tickets you require. The tickets are grouped into categories. Click on the category to see more choices and select Adult, Child, Youth or Family tickets for the travelling zone you require

Gift a ticket

You can also use the Newport Bus app to purchase a ticket for someone else who has a Newport Bus mobile app. Simply enter their email address at the ticket checkout.

When purchased, your ticket or pass appears under Inbox and will need to be downloaded on to the device prior to travelling. The ticket validity starts when the ticket is downloaded.

You then place the QR Code (Active Ticket) on your phone screen under the ticket machine reader when you board the bus. Screenshot of the QR code will not work.

With the Newport Bus app, you can view the bus timetable at specific bus stops and check in real-time when it's due at your stop. Check where your bus is on its journey and the traffic level in the city.
