'Welcome Ticket' Scheme to End on 31st March

On Sunday 31st March 2024, the Welsh Government-funded Wales Free Bus Travel Scheme for Refugees known as the ‘Welcome Ticket’, will end.

Further information on the Welsh Government’s decision to end this scheme can be found HERE.

As a result, from 1 April 2024, all customers will need to pay for their journey or show the appropriate pass. There are a variety of ticket types and fares available. View them HERE.

You may be eligible for one of the Welsh Government’s free or discounted travel schemes if you are:

  • Over 60 or disabled - If your primary address is in Wales and you’re either aged 60 and over or meet the Government’s disability eligibility criteria, you can travel for free on most bus services in Wales. Click HERE for more info.
  • A young person aged between 16-21 –You can apply for a MyTravelPass, which allows you to save approximately 30% on all bus travel in Wales. Click HERE for more info.
  • A Coleg Gwent Student - With the Coleg Gwent bus pass scheme you may be able to get discounted travel and can be paired with a MyTravelPass. Click HERE for more info.
