Changes to routes 1, 5, 6, 7, 8A, 8C, 9A, 9C, 20, 21, A3, SJ2, SJ15 from 2 November 2025

From Sunday 2 November 2025, we're making some changes to your services:

1 Newport - Rogerstone (Morrisons).

  • Following your requests, route 1 will now call at all stops in Afon Village and divert to serve Rogerstone Station.
  • From the city centre, buses will operate their normal route to Mount Pleasant, then continue along Cefn Road, Risca Road then under the railway bridge onto Rivermead Way, serve Rogerstone Station then continue along Rivermead Way to Morrisons.
  • From Morrisons, buses will serve the full length of Rivermead Way, divert via Rogerstone Station, then under the railway bridge onto Risca Road and Cefn Road to resume the normal route from Mount Pleasant.
  • There are some minor changes to the timetable and a new extra journey from Newport at 0710.

9A Newport - Newport Retail Park – Ringland – Alway - Newport

21 Newport – St Julians - Ringland - Newport Retail Park

SJ2  Ringland – St Joseph’s RC High School 

All routes serving Ringland will serve the new Ringland Centre bus stop. 

There are no changes to the timetable

6 Newport - Alway - Ringland - Newport Retail Park

  • Following the reduced weight limit on George Street Bridge, we have reviewed the need for journeys to operate as route 7. Therefore, to improve the service the Elgar Circle area of Alway, all journeys currently operating as route 7 will operate as route 6. This means a regular half-hourly service throughout most of the day along the entire route offering a significant improvement for customers living at the 'top' of Alway.
  • At Ringland, all journeys will serve the new Ringland Centre bus stop.

A3 Raglan - Abergavenny - Brynmawr

  • Most afternoon journey will operate betwee 5 to 10 minutes earlier. This is to allow the bus to depart King Henry VIII 3-19 School at 1500 rather than 1510 as requested by Monmouthshire County Council.

SJ15 Afon Village - St Joseph’s RC High School

  • Journeys will start and finish at Rogerstone (Morrisons) with some minor changes to the timetable to improve reliability.
