Newport Bus is proud to be working in partnership with Devauden Festival and Monmouthshire Council to provide an enhanced timetable on our route 65 which stops right outside the festival.
On Friday, Saturday and Sunday evenings, there’s extra buses all evening with last buses from the festival at 23:15. One journey will operate to Monmouth then become an X60 to Newport. Another journey will operate to Chepstow via The Narth, Trellech, Llanishen, Devauden and Itton. At Chepstow this bus will become route 74 operating as far as Magor.
On Saturday daytime there are extra buses in the daytime as well as the evening ones mentioned above.
For the first time there will be a Sunday and Bank Holiday daytime service too!
This year’s Devauden Festival takes place at Humble by Nature in Penallt. If you’re heading to the festival, ask our driver for Devauden Festival not just the village of Devauden so we can get you to the correct place!
Morgan Stevens, Operations Director for Newport Bus said “Bus services thrive when operators are free to work closely with the communities they serve. Our ability to react and adapt our services efficiently, allows us to provide for events like this. We look forward to building on these types of partnerships in the future”
The partnership working was echoed by Festival Director Jeremy Horton who commented: “We are absolutely delighted that Newport Bus and Monmouthshire County Council have got on board with our aim to reduce the festival’s carbon footprint and the number of cars on the road which is really important to us. Our message this year to fans of our festival is hop on a bus to have a great time and stay as long as you like.”
Newport Bus has been providing route 65 since April 2024 and offers a journey through some of the most scenic parts of Monmouthshire. It has its own dedicated group of local people who help support and promote the service. A spokesperson from the Friends of the 65 Bus said. “Friends of the 65 Bus are delighted to see the special timetable for the Devauden Festival weekend. The 65 Bus is so important to our communities and we are excited to see it showcased with the special festival service. We hope that it will encourage new passengers to come on board and enjoy this beautiful route.”
