13th November

The Newport City annual parade and service on Remembrance Sunday will take place on Sunday 13 November in Newport city centre.

The Newport Stedfast Band will lead the parade from the High Street at 10:35 am making its way to the Cenotaph at Clarence Place.  The City of Newport Male Choir will be in attendance at the cenotaph along with the Newport Borough Brass Band.

The service, led by the Bishop of Monmouth, the Very Reverend Cherry Vann, will take place at the Newport Cenotaph at 10.58 am with the guns sounding at 11 am to mark the start of the two-minute silence.

On the day of the parade, Newport Bus will provide free travel to customers in military uniform or those who can present proof of current or previous service in any branch of our armed forces (including cadets).

We hope this free transport will allow those who serve or served to remember the fallen and those they fought alongside at localised events or at the Remembrance Parade taking place in Newport City Centre.

Ex-military members of staff will attend the parade and lay a wreath at Newport Cenotaph on behalf of Newport Transport.
