Service changes from 31 August 2025

Following your comments and suggestions we’ll be making some changes to our services from 31 August 2025. 

19       Newport - Malpas

  • Minor timetable changes by a few minutes to improve reliability.

31A & 31C    Newport – Marshfield 

  • Minor timetable changes by a few minutes to improve reliability.
  • On schooldays, two journeys a day will operate via Ysgol Gwent Is Coed to provide a link to the school from Marshfield etc.

33       Newport - Duffryn

  • Minor timetable changes by a few minutes to improve reliability.

60       Newport – Usk – Raglan - Monmouth

  • There will be an additional evening journey (Monday to Saturday) from Newport at 20:10 amnd Monmouth at 2118. The 2010 will also serve Newport Station after leaving the bus station.
  • Minor timetable changes on Sunday by a few minutes to improve reliability.

72       Chepstow – Lydney – Cinderford - Mitcheldean

  • Minor timetable changes by a few minutes to improve reliability. Please note that buses will call at some stops up-to 10 minutes earlier, particularly on journeys towards Chepstow.
  • All journeys will operate via Lydney Station and Chepstow Tesco in both directions. When leaving Chepstow, buses will operate via Beaufort Square improving access to Chepstow town centre.

73       Newport – Caerwent - Chepstow

  • Minor revision to times on the two Saturday journeys that serve Mathern.
  • There will be an extra journey on Sundays departing Newport at 0734.
  • *Update* At the request of Monmouthshire Council, the current 0730 journey from Newport to Chepstow Comprehensive School will operate 5 minutes earlier and operate via Mathern. The 1525 journey from Chepstow Comprehensive School will also operate via Mathern.

75       Magor – Caldicot – Llanvair Discoed – Caldicot - Sudbrook

On Monday to Friday, there will be timetable changes to allow for additional journeys to operate between Caerwent and Caldicot to cater for students at Caldicot Comprehensive School. 

  • The 0810 & 1610 journeys from Magor to Caldicot will be withdrawn in this section.
  • There will be a new journey at 0757 from Caerwent (Llanfair Road) to Caldicot then on to Sudbrook to cater for school start times at Caldicot Comprehensive School.
  • There will be a new journey at 0820 from Sudbrook to Caldicot then on to Caerwent to cater for school start times at Caldicot Comprehensive School.
  • The 1520 journey from Sudbrook will operate 30 minutes earlier at 1450 and operate as far as Caldicot then on to Caerwent to cater for school finishing times at Caldicot Comprehensive School
  • The will be a new journey from Sudbrook at 1550 operating as far as Severn Tunnel Junction Station.
  • The timetable on Saturday is largely unchanged.

C4       Chepstow - Beachley

  • Minor timetable changes to improve reliability, in particular most journeys from Beachley operate 3 minutes earlier. When leaving Chepstow, buses will operate via Beaufort Square improving access to Chepstow town centre.

R1       Newport – Ty Sign – Risca – Pontymister

Following your requests, there will be some new journeys on Monday to Saturday:

  • 0630 from Newport to Risca
  • 1811 from Pontymister to Newport
  • 2115 from Newport to Risca
  • 2152 from Risca to Newport 

There are also minor timetable changes to most other journeys by a few minutes to improve reliability. In particular: 

  • 0715 from Risca will operate 6 minutes earlier at 0709
  • 0805 from Newport will operate 10 minutes earlier at 0755.
  • 0850 from Risca will operate 10 minutes earlier at 0840.
  • 1855 from Pontymister will operate 16 minutes later at 1911
  • 1940 from Newport will operate 15 minutes later at 1955
  • 2022 from Pontymister will operate 13 minutes later at 2035

R2       Rogerstone (Morrisons) – Ty Sign – Risca – Pontymister

  • The section of route between Ynysddu and Rogerstone (Morrisons) will be withdrawn with the remaining service operating between Pontymister, Risca, Fernlea, Ty Sign and Morrisons at slightly revised times.

SJ14   Pye Corner – Goldcliff – St Joseph’s RC High School

  • The afternoon journey is retimed by a few minutes and will end at Goldcliff (Farmers Arms) rather than Pye Corner.

 

YGI3   Corporation Road - Caerleon Road - St Julians - Ysgol Gyfun Gwent Is Coed

  • Due to the reduced weight limit on George Street Bridge, this service will start at Corporation Road (outside the VW Garage) then operate along Corporation Road to Caerleon Road then via the normal route to Lysgaht Village. It will then operate via City Bridge and Docks Way to Ysgol Gyfun Gwent Is Coed. The afternoon journey will operate via Docks Way and City Bridge, eft onto Corporation Road then complete the normal route ending at Lysaght Village.
