Somerton Road Bus Stops no Longer Served from 8th December

We have received representations regarding the safety of the bus stops on Somerton Road near Balmoral Road. Following a site assessment, we have concluded that the existing arrangements are not satisfactory. There aren’t any suitable alternatives and the bus stops on both sides of the road will be removed.

From Sunday 8 December 2024, all buses will not stop here for customers to board and alight. 

We are sorry for any inconvenience, however the safety of our customer, staff and other road users is essential. 

Alternative bus stops are as follows:

Routes 74, 74A, 74C: Beechwood Park (both directions), Frobisher Road, Lloyd Street

Route 5:  Hawthorne Avenue (both directions), St Patrick’s RC Church, Liscombe Street 

Route SJ4: Penylan Road (both directions), Beechwood Surgery, St Patrick’s RC Church, Liscombe Street

Route YGI3: Penylan Road, Beechwood Surgery, Frobisher Road
