Fares in Cardiff (Zone C)

If you’re travelling on our services in Cardiff you’ll need our Cardiff (Zone C) tickets. If you are travelling to between the Cardiff and Newport then you’ll need our CityPlus tickets.  

  • Flat fare regardless of how far you travel.
  • No peak/off peak prices. The fare is same any time of the day or week.

  • Route 30 between Cardiff city centre and St. Mellons Garden Centre
  • Route X30 between Cardiff city centre and UHW Heath Hospital

*Child/Youth single and day fares are the Welsh Government’s Children and Young persons bus fare scheme. They are available to anyone aged 5-21. For all tickets, if you are 5-15, you don’t need ID. If you are aged 16-21 you must have a MyTravelPass. Find out more here.

 

 

Travelling with Newport Bus and Cardiff Bus.

We've been operating route 30 jointly with Cardiff Bus for over 80 years. You can find out more about the history here.

 

Travelling just in Cardiff

If you are travelling in Cardiff, you can buy Cardiff Bus Day-to-go day tickets from our driver or from Cardiff Bus. They allow unlimited travel in Cardiff and Penarth as well as between Cardiff and St Mellons Garden Centre on route 30. They are not valid on route X30. 

Day to go: £5.20

 

Travelling within Newport city and to/from Cardiff.

If you want to travel around Newport city and to/from Cardiff then you'll need to buy a Newport Bus CityPlus ticket.  You can buy one from our driver or from Cardiff Bus.  They allow unlimited travel across the wider Newport area as well as between Newport and Cardiff on route 30. They are also valid on route X30.

Newport CityPlus: £6.70

 

Travelling on the entire Cardiff Bus network and to/from Newport. 

If you want to travel across the entire Cardiff Bus network, then you'll need to buy a Day-to-go plus.  You can buy one from our driver or from Cardiff Bus.  They allow unlimited travel across the entire Cardiff Bus network as well as between Newport and Cardiff on route 30. They are not valid on route X30.
